Bioprospecting of secondary metabolites from endophytic fungi of Cameroonian plants from the Kalla Mountain at Nkolbisson, Yaoundé-Cameroon
Ongoing Project
The World Academy for Science
Fungal endophytes have several unexplored applications, including the discovery of new drugs. Since the 1990s, endophytic microorganisms have emerged as an alternative source of metabolites, with the isolation of active ingredients from plant endophytes. From our previous work, several fungi from Cameroonian plants have been isolated, characterized, and preserved. Our future direction is to investigate the secondary metabolites of these species.
Objectives
Our primary objective is to identify secondary metabolites of endophytic fungi
